In November, 1-304 had a Reading Celebration! This day brought our Celebrations Unit and our Reading Workshop Unit together. We invited families in to help us celebrate that we are reading more and more. For Family Friday in October, 1-304 was inspired by Lois Ehlert's Leaf Man. We used the leaves and seeds we had collected in Sunset Park to invent our own own creations! We had leaf people, leaf birds, and even leaf fish! 1-304 read, reread, wrote post-its, and practiced non-fiction books for many days. This was all to celebrate the end of our non-fiction reading unit with our families! Below are pictures of some of our experts reading aloud to parents and peers in January. On February 5th, families joined us for our Lunar New Year Celebration! We had a short Morning Meeting, then we made dumplings and dragons. |
